RENN DESIGNS

Chantal has a background in children's book illustration and textile design. When she decided to start her own business, designing wallpaper for children's rooms felt like a natural progression and perfect fit.  She noticed that it is not easy to find wallpaper for children that is both intricately illustrated and contemporary in design

A number of people mentioned how well they remembered their childhood wallpaper from the 1970s or 1980s and she realised that wallpaper provides such an opportunity to inspire children's imaginations; there is no reason why such memorable and magical wallpaper can't be created now, with a contemporary aesthetic

The logo of the little Wren bird actually originates from her granddad Harold Renn's old London-based business Renn's Shaped Ply; the business closed when the location close to Brick Lane where it was situated was marked unsafe and demolished in the 1970s.  Fortunately some printed examples of the logo remain and it's wonderful to be using it and the Renn family name for her own business
